Welcome friends
I have chosen the name Judah by which to call myself on the internet as it is very close to my real name which is a contraction of this one. Some folks have assumed by this name that I am male, but that is the first misconception... in fact I am not.
The name Judah itself means Praise of God. The root word "Hodeh" also means thanksgiving as well as praise, a sense of gratefulness for being given more than one deserves, and it is used in colloquial Hebrew today in the form of todah or "thank you". Although choosing such a name, I am also not Jewish. But I am very grateful for being given far more than I deserve, and for which I praise God.

There I have many more pages which are kept updated at frequent and regular intervals with all kinds of items.
It also provides a list of resources for those interested in Christian apologia and theology.
Anyone (but not spammers) may leave comments to the more recent posts.
Or, if you would like to contact me directly, you may do so using the email form provided here.
The pages of Judah's Site will tell you a little about myself, what I believe, something of where I live, and something of what I like doing. It has come into being for a number of reasons, but here are two of them:
~ It saves me from answering the same questions over and over again. I am often asked questions about myself, my quilts and other crafts, or where I live. Now I can offer a link, and hey presto, those who clicked will find themselves here with the answers!
~ It is also a learning exercise, the coding up of a website which is more than just one simple page.
The photo at the top of this page is a view of the Seaward Kaikouras, a part of the Southern Alps, the mountain chain that forms the backbone of the South Island of New Zealand. The photo directly below, also of my favourite Southern Alps as they reach to the sea, was taken at Kaikoura, a small fishing town on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island.
The dynamic part of this website is Judah's Journal which you can find by clicking on the name here, or on the button named for it both above and below.
Throughout this site you will find many of my own photos of my favourite places in New Zealand. For instance, directly below is the surf in which I learnt to swim as a child, around Cave Rock on Sumner Beach, Christchurch. Cave Rock itself, a large dome of easily climbed rock, is wonderful to clamber all over and attracts many children in every generation.
And at the very bottom of this page is a sunrise over the Hutt Valley where the valley floor extends towards the northern boundary of Port Nicholson, the port harbour of NZ's very attractive capital city, Wellington. It was to this area that British settlers arrived and disembarked from their sailing ships back in 1840, establishing camp. The settlement became known by the Maori name, Petone.
The little buttons below are links to different pages within my site... except for the last one. The button at the far right will take you to Visible Soul Web Design, the gracious host and provider of technical support for Judah's Site and Judah's Journal. These clickable buttons are made from a snippet of the view of the Southern Alps.
