Most of the images used on Judah’s Journal were created by Judah from her own photographs. Those that are owned by her are copyright.
For use of any images thus copyrighted, see next section below.

Before reproducing any of the articles published on this site, you should obtain the permission of the author.
All these articles are copyrighted to their author. Reproducing them without express permission would be a violation of the author’s intellectual property rights.

TERMS OF USE for images used in entries to Judah’s Journal are as follows:

Some images on Judah’s Journal are FREE for you to use on your personal webpages, on-line church bulletins, newsletters and as inspirational emails.
The ones that you may use freely are those that are overwritten with Scripture.
Those images overwritten with Scripture are free for you to use in projects which are NOT considered a business or for profit in any way.

NB. Other images not overwritten with Scripture are NOT to be used and Copyright terms will cover them.

The only requirements for FREE use of overwritten images (as described above) are these:

~ YOU DO NOT claim the work as your own
~ YOU DO NOT post it as part of any other collection
~ YOU DO NOT post my images on your web pages as your work
~ YOU DO NOT hotlink my images

A link back to Judah’s Journal is appreciated but not required.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Each image MUST be downloaded to your computer, from there uploaded to your own image host, and posted from your own host.
ABSOLUTELY NO HOT-LINKING to images is permitted.

It happens from time to time that folk will post images directly from one site to another, probably using copy-and-paste of the original URL (from the image’s properties), and quite possibly without knowledge or permission of the owner of the image or from the one who originally hosted them.

It may be that some folk don’t know what is HOTLINKING and that it is considered THEFT.
It is theft of someone else’s bandwidth for which the other is paying.

Hotlinking is said to have taken place when you do not download the image to your own computer first, then upload it to your own image hosting account, and then post it from there.

The danger with hotlinking, aside from the ethics involved, is that the person hosting the image may exchange the image, keeping the same address, for another which will embarrass the one who hotlinked it. I have heard of an instance where the hotlinked image was exchanged for another that read in huge bold letters “This person using this image here is a thief!” and another where the image was exchanged for a pornographic one.

What is hotlinking and bandwidth theft?

Bandwidth theft or “hotlinking” is direct linking to a web site’s files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an < img > tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else’s web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc.

Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transferred from a web site to a user’s computer. When you view a web page, you are using that site’s bandwidth to display the files. Since web hosts charge based on the amount of data transferred, bandwidth is an issue. If a site is over its monthly bandwidth, it’s billed for the extra data or taken offline.

A simple analogy for bandwidth theft: Imagine a random stranger plugging into your electrical outlets, using your electricity without your consent, and you paying for it.

It is not at all difficult to set up an account with an image hosting service and many of them offer a reasonable amount of bandwidth for no charge at all.

Regarding the use of Scripture on Judah’s Journal, in most cases I use the New International Version (NIV).
