Welcome friends
I have chosen the name Judah by which to call myself on the internet as it is very close to my real name which is a contraction of this one. Some folks have assumed by this name that I am male, but that is the first misconception... in fact I am not.
The name Judah itself means Praise of God. The root word "Hodeh" also means thanksgiving as well as praise, a sense of gratefulness for being given more than one deserves, and it is used in colloquial Hebrew today in the form of todah or "thank you". Although choosing such a name, I am also not Jewish. But I am very grateful for being given far more than I deserve, and for which I praise God.
This site will tell you a little about myself, what I believe, something of where I live, and something of what I like doing. It has come into being for a number of reasons, but here are two of them:
1. It saves me from answering the same questions over and over again. Now I can offer a link, and hey presto, those who clicked will find themselves here with the answers!
2. It is a learning exercise, my first website which is more than just one simple page.
It is also a place where I can share some things that in my view are important, and others that are definitely not but which might be interesting to the odd passer-by. The important things are those matters of faith; the unimportant are the other bits about me. It is a good venue for creative expression and even if nobody checks in to read any of this, I will have enjoyed myself playing regardless.
The dynamic part of this website is Judah's Journal which you can find by clicking on the button named for it below. There I have many more pages which are kept updated at frequent and regular intervals with all kinds of items. It also provides a list of resources for those interested in Christian apologia and theology. Those who register are able to leave comments to the more recent posts.
The photo above is a view of Wellington, the beautiful harbour Capital City of New Zealand. The one below of my favourite Southern Alps, and which forms my signature, was taken at Kaikoura, NZ.
The little buttons below are links to different pages within my site... except for the last one. The button at the far right will take you to the Visiblesoul Christian Website from where Judah's Site is hosted, and where there is much more yet to read. The buttons are made from the view through the altar window of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tekapo, NZ, looking out at Lake Tekapo.
